In your batch file, at the start of the line type ECHO, hit the spacebar, hold down the Alt key and type 255 on the **NUMERIC** keypad (doesn't matter if Num Lock is on or off), and hit Enter. This echos a "hard space" with an ASCII value of 255 decimal. It looks like a regular space (invisible), but DOS handles it differently. Statements herein are my own.
