Harris - Consulting EDLIN is horrible, but don't get rid of it! It's still great for editing 5 line files and the such. The other thing that is great about it is I can go anywhere, on anybodies pc, and if I have to edit something small, I KNOW I can use EDLIN. Its simple and quick. We do need a new standard "real "editor also--I think this was the main point--to be included in the standard operating system. My two cents worth... Dean Wallwey
