Can somebody tell me how to recognise a Nec Silent LaserWriter to an Appletalk network ? This problem driving me bananas. Such printer is able to work in several emulation modes (including Postscript), with several outputs (serial, parrallel, and AppleTalk). Marvellous you say ! yes, but unfortunately such printer cannot be checked and does not reply. I've tried The Namer, InterPoll, and all the network checkers available through the world : Nothing ! The network seems to be OK. I've called Nec in France, but people working with the Silent LaserWriter just uses PC's, and never Macintoshes. As the problem seems to come from the printer, I'm wondering if any saviour might reply to my quest. Thank's in advance for any tips, clues and full answers !
