Thanks very much for the suggestion, but note that in my original message I
said:

Besides, what are people without FDHD's supposed to do?  There must be a way
to do this over modem!

Anyway, thanks very much for your suggestions.  It turns out that we can, if
we're really desperate, use a PS/2 in a lab on campus that has both 5-1/4 and
3-1/2 drives.  Or, we could wait until he gets his '386, which will probably
have the 3-1/2 format drives anyway...
