I found the problem.  I am using version 1.4c and it conflicts with the only
init which I won't do without:  SUM's HD Partition Init.

Does anyone know if a more recent version is compatible with SUM?
I really like the product.

Under MultiFinder I still only get a beep, no matter how much memory I give
to the system.
