So far I have only the MacII 4 bit color card which I like to upgrade
to 8 bit. I assume that the kit consists only of a couple of chips:

1) what kind of chips,

2) how many

3) are there third party vendors selling them? price?

I can get the kit for $110 which looks a bit steep to me.
