I noticed about 10 of them in different folders--Some had old modify dates, so I went through, deleted all of them, rebuilt, and several came back. I always thought one at the top level was the rule, but this drive has many. (SE with a 60Mb CMS external) I thought maybe the size of the drive demanded more desktop files, but I cannot figure it out. Sure System 7 claims to rid us of those slow, monster desktop files, but it still bothers me right now... (And as an aside, I had a flawless installation of the 6.0.5 files from apple. Diskcopy worked, the disks worked, the files were ok. Add my name to the success side. It was a great way to do it.) David V. Baker Intermetrics, Inc. dvb@inmet.inmet.com
