How to get free switch? Message-ID: <8142@tank.uchicago.edu> Date: 28 Mar 90 18:48:27 GMT Sender: news@tank.uchicago.edu Distribution: na Organization: University of Chicago Graduate School of Business Lines: 34 I have a Mac II and would like to put a PMMU in. I think I have one early enough that it might require a new motherboard (some early Mac II's don't work with the PMMU. Question 1: What ROM versions need the switch? MacEnvy reports that I have ROM Version: 256K (Version 120), rev. 1 ROM C7 Info: $97851DB6 (old II ROM) Is it clear from this whether I would need the switch or not? Question 2: I believe that Apple is providing a cost-free motherboard switch for those affected. How does one go about getting this? Does one simply take it to the dealer and they do the work for free? Any info much appreciated! Robert (P.S., tried posting this to .hardware, but got no response, so that's why I'm posting it here). ============================================================================ = gft_robert@gsbacd.uchicago.edu * generic disclaimer: * "It's more fun to = = * all my opinions are * compute" = = * mine * -Kraftwerk = ============================================================================ ============================================================================ = gft_robert@gsbacd.uchicago.edu * generic disclaimer: * "It's more fun to = = * all my opinions are * compute" = = * mine * -Kraftwerk = ============================================================================
