This may seem trivial, but...

How do you convert a colormap pixel value into RGB values quickly?  The
Color QuickDraw routine Index2Color does just that, but it requires
the colormap to be that of the current graphics device.  Does
QuickDraw construct some sort of table (an inverse inverse table?)
for doing this conversion rapidly?
