At the point where UNIX gets relinked it fell in a heap with an error saying the symbol table for /kernel/tower/lib5 was corrupt. After a bit of investigating I found that the HPAD install was inserting some new objects into lib5 and the archiver was falling over saying the library was out of sequence. After a bit more investigating I found that the archiver just didn't like these particular objects and it had nothing to do with the library itself. In fact I created a brand new library with the same result. After a flash of inspiration I grabbed the archiver from 020101, ran it through 'mcs' and tried the install again - success. Is this a known problem ? I wonder what else is incompatible with 010300 and HPAD ? Has my use of the 020101 archiver any long reaching re-percussions ? -- <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Nigel Harwood >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> << Post: Coles Myer Ltd, PO Box 2000 Tooronga 3146, Australia >> << Phone: +61 3 829 6090 E-mail: nigel%cmsfl@labtam.oz.au >> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
