I just tried re-installing version 1.1 of Interactive's X11. I installed the 6 disk clients system, the Servers I diskette, and the System diskette. I configure it for a basic VGA with serial mouse. Now, everytime I try to run xinit, the screen clears to where it is supposed to put up the background pattern, then goes back to the first screen and gives this error: Could not get X Line Discipline number: No such device or address Fatal server error: X device open failed. And then dumps core. I have tried different combinations of mice (bus and serial), VGA card types (VEGA VGA, Paradise VGA) and no difference. Any ideas?? -randy -- Randy Suess randy@chinet.chi.il.us
