Message-ID: <30898@dhw68k.cts.com> Date: 23 Mar 90 00:58:23 GMT Reply-To: daveegan@dhw68k.cts.com (Dave Egan) Distribution: na Organization: Wolfskill & Dowling residence; Anaheim, CA (USA) Lines: 30 Why can't I get the ct command to work properly on our XENIX 2.3.2 system? What I'm Doing: Dial in to a 2400 baud modem connected to XENIX, Get the system prompt, login, issue the command "ct -s2400 1234567" Answer "y" to the disconnect prompt. Results: Line is dropped, Modem rings at the remote PC remote PC answers modem Get the system prompt, the rest is history, login is not recognized! Our guru/consultant sez that the problem is UUCP has the line at this time and is expecting only a UUCP dialin. He mentioned the possibility of modifying the Kernal to wait 5 minutes before initiating the callback, circumventing UUCP (I may have not fully understood his explanation - blame me not him). Does the ct command really not work or are we just screwed up? Please reply via e-mail; I'll summarize back to net if anybody is interested (assuming I get some sort of resolution!). Thanks in advance. -- Dave Egan | Radio: N6XVZ uucp: ...{spsd,zardoz,felix}!dhw68k!daveegan | InterNet: daveegan@dhw68k.cts.com |
