The '87 and '88 proceedings were published by Springer-Verlag, but not the '89 proceedings. For a long time that's all I knew. The Stanford bookstore has finally gotten the book. 1) It took nine months from the conference to availability of the proceedings. 2) The book is hardback, and priced US $69.50. I personally think this is outrageous. I'd like to know why an effective (relatively fast and inexpensive) publisher was abandoned. This does not seem like the right way to disseminate scientific information in a rapidly moving field. For those of you who might want to purchase this book, it is published by Cambridge University Press, and the ISBN is 0-521-38232-7. I doubt that I will be buying it, even though I would very much like to have its contents in my personal library. joe
