As the editor of the proceedings, I can tell you. The British Computer Society, who sponsored and adminstered the conference, have an exclusive contract with the Cambridge University Press. We had no reasonable option other than to use them for the proceedings. I am sorry it is so expensive for you and that it took so long for your store to obtain.
