It lets a mainframe user at a 3270-type terminal make an X.25 connection (using IBM NPSI software) to an X.25 host. It then emulates a VT100 (or something else useful) on the 3270. As best we know, IBM here doesn't really have or recommend anything like it. However, they don't sell a lot of NPSI here either. However, IBM does sell a lot of NPSI in Europe; perhaps someone there might know of soemthing.
