These are both very important... I have another to add:
currently Stevie works over AUX:, *BUT* it redraws the WHOLE screen
during insert mode after EVERY character is typed.  Similar things
happen with deletes and other commands.  It makes editing a file
via 1200 baud modem utterly impossible.

One vote here for an AUX:able VI that works well over modem.
