DOS 3.3 is virtually obsolete. All the utilities used for file transfer here, such as ShrinkIt and BinSCII, require ProDOS. If you still have a 48K II Plus, pop the $50 or whatever (it should be cheaper) and get a language card. Right now it looks like you're headed nowhere but oblivion with your setup. On an unrelated subject, why does my mail always bounce when I try to send it to a UUCP location? The most recent case was this address: con_jdc%umt@apple.com Apple's mailer sent back a message to the effect to try again with "proper UUCP syntax or a fully-qualified domain name." Every time I try sending something through to a UUCP location, it gets bounced back. (I'm only guessing that the final destination, apparently con_jdc@umt, is a UUCP location connected to the Internet through Apple. Any clues? As he (referring to the above address) tried to say, "sraseeva." (That's the transliteration. :-) )) Scott Alfter------------------------------------------------------------------- Internet: alfter@mrcnext.cso.uiuc.edu _/_ Apple II: the power to be your best! cs122aw@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu / v \ saa33413@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu ( ( A keyboard--how quaint!
