Message-ID: <1990Apr10.181312.5738@eddie.mit.edu> Date: 10 Apr 90 18:13:12 GMT Organization: MIT Lines: 23 I am the proud new owner of a DECsystem 2020 (KS-10). I bought it from a reseller in Canada but it did not come with any paperwork indicating who last owned it. I would like to get the license (Tops-10 or Tops-20) transferred to me so that I'm legitimate. Since the reseller from whom I bought the machine was not able to be helpful, I thought I'd try getting DEC to help me. I have managed to acquire the necessary forms for license transfer, but I need to find out who the last registered owner of CPU number MR-4344 was so that I can contact them and get their signature on the license transfer paperwork. Nobody within DEC has been able/willing/whatever to help me. Large systems group tells me to get in touch with my local office; my local office is clueless and says that because I want to trace a CPU that I would have to talk to some one on the national level. Am I going about this the wrong way? Is there a DEC Ombudsman Office that takes care of such things?
