Hit Alt-F8 for keyboard emulation and select VT-102 (I assume that's what
you are using.) Change the definition for Control Backspace to ^H (type
caret, H) and the definition for BACKSPACE to DEL (hit Control-Backspace).
This effectively switches the placements of the backspace and delete
keys. To type a _real_ ^H, hit control-backspace. Glad to help.
