NCR chose the WD 7000 FAST controller as there AT bus SCSI adapter.
What I heard from one of the engineers was that CD used a partitioning
scheme that permitted a file to spill over from one partition to the
next transparently. In any event, I thought a SCSI drive I received
had no data on it when I was unable to get anything from it using an
Adaptec 1542 controller. I had to switch to a WD 7000 and use the OS/2
driver to retrieve the data (the WD dos driver couldn't read the disk
either).
