 At the University of Texas MicroCenter [sells only to UT students, 
faculty, and staff], the latest prices list says:

  Mac IIfx logic board upgrade $2,550
     [Includes $30.00 labor charge and $1,800 Mac II or MacIIx board credit]

  Mac IIfx with 4 meg ram      $5,945
  Mac IIfx with 4 meg ram and 160 meg hard drive  $7,270
