I've hooked an HP plotter to a Mac by using an Imagewriter I printer 
cable, and then driving it using the MacPlot software from MicroSpot.  
Works like a champ.  Also works if you want to share the HP plotter
on an AppleTalk network by connecting the plotter to a Shiva NetSerial
instead of to a Mac directly.
