man -k or apropos is not implemented. There is a utility around 
which is posted occasionally on this bboard written by Dave 
Ciemiewicz (at SGI). The utility is not perfect, though, a good 
replacement instead of having nothing. Maybe it's implemented
in a fruture release ... 

Without wanting to advertise utilities written by others, I admit that 
I'm satisfied with ciemo's apropos.
