This is a program that allows you to interface a Microtec MS300A scanner to a computer via an RS232 connection, and scan documents which will be converted to images in Sun rasterfile format. There are graphical interfaces for SunView and XView. Couple points to note. 1/ The program that does the actual scanning is separate from the graphical frontend, so you don't need a graphics screen with Sunview or XView in order to run it (although it's easier because there are a lot of command line options). 2/ The scan program contains code to take CCITT Group 3 data and convert it to a Sun rasterfile. It has quite a fast algorithm. This might be useful to other people besides scanner users. See the README and manual page with the posting for more details. Rich Burridge.
