Message-ID: Date: 8 Apr 90 10:50:11 GMT Sender: news@phoenix.Princeton.EDU Distribution: comp Organization: Cognitive Science Lab. Princeton University. Lines: 28 Hi, Does anyone know what does a flashing 0201 from a 0-boot (on an 1108) mean ?? I seem to get this more often these days upon a sysin+boot -- it sysin'ed ok -- only stuck when trying to 0-boot. Sometimes it also happens when I do a manual 0-boot as well. The strange thing is that if you presist in doing 0-boot 2~3 times, it'll boot up. Usually, if the LED goes pass 0199 and can proceed to 0200 then it'll almost always boot ok. Otherwise, it'll simply go from 0199 straight to a flashing 0201. Sometimes, at that stage, if I do a 0-boot again, it might work again and boot ok. Once the machine is up, it works fine from then on -- it is just only this booting problem. I'm beginning to think of either a cpu and/or memory board problem since the proceed/status code is at such a low count (i.e. up to 0199~0201). Can anyone out there give me any hints on this ? I've no hardware manual to interpret neither the status code nor the error code. Thanks in advance. -- Eric Ho Princeton University eho@clarity.princeton.edu
