Using mostly postscript fonts in TeX3.0? Message-ID: Date: 13 Apr 90 16:24:06 GMT Organization: Computing Systems, Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA Lines: 17 With the advent of TeX3.0, with virtual fonts, and (on unix) dvips5 it possible to create TeX formats that make minimal use of the CM fonts. Some of my users are interested in this, so .... Does anyone have a version of plain.tex (and the LaTeX files lplain.tex, lfonts.tex), that uses postscript fonts instead of the cm fonts? Most of it is easy, but I'm interested in a version that uses postscript whereever possible, including (say) the math italic font. *I* actually prefer the look of the CM fonts (and they are still portable), but other users seem to like the look of the native Postscript fonts. If I get any responses I'll summarize them to this newsgroup. Regards, Michael M. Meyer Statistics/Academic Computing Carnegie Mellon University.
