In fact I would like to know what other formats are in common use (excluding those mentioned in Frequently asked questions). For your information, there is a effort underway in Germany to define yet another image format. The big difference between all of the others ever developed and this one, is this one is intended to become an international standard for use in image processing systems. It is also intended to be compatible with the PIK image processing standard that is currently under development by X3H3.8.
