I would expect to use pack and unpack, but there are no format letters for float. Actually what I am trying to do is read a file written on a VAX with a program running on an HP9000 (which uses IEEE floating point. Unless I am missing something, it looks like a C program. Any ideas? Any chance for adding float (and double) to (un)?pack \? - Len Weisberg HP Corporate Computing & Services weisberg@hpccc in Palo Alto mailstop 20CH telnet 857-2495 HPDesk hp0000
