Of course, this won't go. But my proposal helps those whose programs do not
run due to invalid size assumptions. Programs which do not run because they
try to transfer more than 64K of data in a single system call are not so
frequently, I think.

A System based on 32bit-ints totally is elegant, but not so efficient on
16-bit processors like the 68000.
