I would like to convert GIF files to .BMP files for a PM/Windows background. I have used (still have?) a program for OS/2 which would convert or display GIFs, but have never seen anything for converting them under DOS/Windows/Unix. I have the pbmplus package, and use it for printing GIF to PostScript or LaserJets. I would appreciate any pointers to or copies of the .BMP specification. (also, anyone got a P[BGP]M to TIFF converter? You can read TIFFs, but ya can't write them. With Word for Windows wanting TIFFs, this has become much more important to get or write.)
