Well, since the Amiga was multitasking from day one, even without memory protection, fewer programs are ill-behaved. Vendors can't just say "Well, don't use multitasking" any more that Mac vendors can say "Well, don't use the mouse with this program." Few would buy a useful program that crashed and needed to be rebooted often. And since programs on Amy expect to be sharing with other programs, they tend to use less RAM also. On a Mac, it's not a problem to use all available memory (except under multifinder). -- Darren
