The way to get around this is to (manually) resolve the link and
state it explictly in your command argument.

	ls //*/sys/node_data*/etc

I think that the node-dependent links (`node_data) are a necessary
evil (much much better than the NFS alternative anyway!!) and I've 
learned to live with them.
