My particular one is quieter than the (soft) high pitched whine of the two monitors I have. It is much quieter than >any< other fan that I run across, for any other computer system. (The IBM RT I'm on now sounds like it has an air conditioner somewhere inside there! From the size of the case, it just might, too . . . ;-) I'm sort of surprised that two people have got fans from Kensington that are noisy enough to be annoying.
