Here is a list of the things I know or have tried: 1] The MAC isn't true RS232 either. I checked with a local APPLE service centre & found out that the MAC will accept TTL. Today I'm going to clutch at a couple of straws and try a 64 ==> RS232 converter I built a while ago, after I buy some fresh 9V batteries for it (The converter was a project out of an Electronic Today International magazine (Aust ed) project# ETI-1601; it uses a 1488 & 1489). 2] I've tried tweeking the bit-rate timers for the RS232 routines in the 64, No success. 3] It is possible that the user port on my 64 is damaged (PB0 could be playing up) - I'll check this by using my VIC20. 4] The ASC codes: Speedscript allows you to save your document as a ASC file. When I was testing the null-modem cable, I just used a quick&dirty routine that came out of the VIC20 reference manual (modified to 8N1 of course). Thanks to all, Sincerly C.Baird. The Upper and lower case characters are avaliable (I didn't include the C= shift characters because I couldn't be bothered working out the corresponding character codes). I could post it here if you want. ,----___ / =VIC20=~~~---___ /~~---___ ~~~---___ ,' :::::: ~~~---___ =o ,'| / :::::::::::::: ~~~---__/ | / :::::::::::::::::::: O ,' O | / ___ ::::::::::: O / =,' |~~~---___ ~~~--- :::: O / =,' ~~~---___~~~---___ O / ,' ~~~---___~~~---',' ~~~---'
