Keywords: floppy, step-rate, IBMPC Message-ID: <684@hades.OZ> Date: 1 May 90 04:13:21 GMT Organization: Ausonics Pty Ltd, Sydney, Australia Lines: 21 Can anyone tell me if it is possible to set the floppy disk head step rate for different drives to different values on an IBM-PC compatible?. I have two floppy drives on my machine: one can step at 3ms, but the other can't step faster than 6ms, so I would like to set the fast one to 3ms and leave the slower one at 6ms. There is a table pointed to by one of the interrupt vectors which holds the head step rate for both drives, so I can set them both to 3ms by changing the value in this table - but that changes both drives, and I only want to change one. Can anyone help?. Please Email me if you can as I'm very likely to miss your valuable reply!. regs, Greyham. -- /* Greyham Stoney: Australia: (02) 428 6476 * * greyham@hades.oz - Ausonics Pty Ltd, Lane Cove, Sydney, Oz. * * "BUT THAT'S JUST A BUTTON ON A STRING, BASICLY!!!" */
