Did you try Windows? Yes, I am working with Windows (286 and 386) under DOS 4.01. It's Release 2.11 (2.03 of Win386 won't run with DOS 4). With these Windows-Version, I had no Problems running Windows with DOS 4.01, which were affectet from DOS 4.01, But I have some Problems with Windows (both 286 and 386, specially 386 2.03 and 2.11), under DOS 4.01 as under DOS 3.30. Therefore the Question is not always "Is DOS 4 broken", there are too Problems in the applications. Beside that, Programs not designed for upward compatibilty should not be used in newer version of DOS. I don't aspect the Norton Utilities 4.0 to run with DOS 4. I can't aspect to build an engine from a car out of the fifties to an new designed car from today. Both is no discussion of things being broken (With that, i don't want to tell the bugs of DOS 4.00 to be not broken) Rainer Gerten University of Kaiserslautern West-Germany mail: gerten@uklirb.informatik.uni-kl.de
