How do I hook up a DC600-type tape drive (Archive 5945L-2) and
a controller card (SMS SISGEN 4044-1) to run on a '386/20?

I bought the drive and the card from a fellow who did not
have a cable, so I need a source for a cable (34-pin header
to 50-pin card-edge), or, preferably, the pin-outs and the
cable configuration so that I can build a suitable cable.

Which driver do I need to use this under Esix? 
Will the Everex QIC-02/36 driver that comes with Esix work?
(Is the Archive 5945L-2 an QIC-02 drive? QIC-36? SCSI?)

Which driver do I need to use it under MS-DOS?  I have SY-TOS/DOS.

If the controller card is not appropriate, please recommend another.

Details on the hardware:

Tape Drive:
Archive Corp. Cartridge tape drive Model 5945L-2
LR 56637  Serial No. M523666 with a 50-pin card edge connector
that goes to a PCB which also has a 50-pin card edge connector.
(I suspect this came out of an Apollo DSPxx. Computer "junkyards"
in the greater Boston area seem to be peddling these in quantity.)

Tape Controller Card:
