Expensive SCSI host adaptor Message-ID: <6736@ccncsu.ColoState.EDU> Date: 6 May 90 08:45:46 GMT Sender: news@ccncsu.ColoState.EDU Reply-To: roh@handel.UUCP Distribution: comp.sys.ibm.pc Organization: Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO 80523 Lines: 9 Does anyone know what the real differences are between the cheap (<$100) and expensive (~$300) SCSI adaptors? Are the expensive ones that much better? If so, in what ways? Since most scsi drives have 8bit interface, what good is it to have a 16bit host adaptor. Also does the adaptors have anything to do with the interleave (1:1 and 2:1 adaptors exist?). Do you also need special drivers for OS/2 and other OS's? Yes, these are lots of questions and I would appreciate any kind of response. Thanks, Lucas
