Electrical Engineering, Edinburgh University, Scotland Lines: 10 The VGA standard only supports 6 bit control of the red, green and blue intensities in the 256 colors/pixel mode. This means that only 64 greyscales are available. Does anyone know of any otherwise VGA compatible cards that support 8 bit control of red, green and blue intensity thus providing the more standard (and useful) 256 greyscales as found on workstatations (ie SUN, Apollo etc).
