As both an expereinced DOS and Unix user who writes both shell
and command.com scripts, I use command.com as the native shell,
and run sh.exe only for those things that I can't easily do otherwise.

I run it this way because most DOS applications do not use the switch 
character propery.

Incidentally, don't forget to ut '.' in your PATH.
