We need to purchase a couple of removable cartridge (Syquest based) drive systems. I have experience with two Mass Micro drives already, and am reasonably satisfied, but we'd like to consider some less expensive alternatives. Upon scanning the 6/90 issue of Macworld, I compiled the following list in order from least to most expensive: Ehman, HardDrives Intl, Cutting Edge, Alliance Peripheral Systems, Cutting Edge, Mirror Technologies, CMS, Dolphin, PLI, MicroTech, MicroNet (Actually, I didn't get a price on the MicroNet drive.) The prices range from $650 to $1100. Does anyone have experience with any of these brands, or any others? With drives being offered as low as $650, I hesitate to shell out another $1100 for a Mass Micro drive. Email responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the info. Norm swenson@isl.stanford.edu
