It has a built-in cache, so APS claims 12 ms access times. It comes formatted with a system installed (mine had 6.0.4) and formatting and partioning software. I proceeded to partition my disk and install system 6.0.5. I'm quite happy with it. It sure seems fast, and a little quieter than the 13-month-old Apple Quantum 80 Mb drive that went bad on me. Sure is nice to know the drive sold through APS comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty! The only problem I've had is with a case of the screen jitters. When there is a lot of disk activity, my SE/30 screen jitters a very small amount. The service folk at APS have been very helpful and have suggested some things that reduced the problem tremendously. Since this is related to the proximity of the disk to the CRT, I'm sure there won't be any problems for externals or non-SE installations. Feel free to e-mail if you have any specific questions.
