The finder is always active under multifinder, so it doesn't have to be launched... and you can easily go to the finder by selecting the finder icon in the Apple Menu. The Set Aside feature isn't really intended to bring you to the finder. If you have two applications open, if you choose set aside in one, then the next job in line might be the other program... you still wont be at the desktop.
