Surely there must be a "better way". > ...and yet another method... since the sloooooowest part of my transfer is from mainframe to mac, i've been using the mac version of the unix =compress= [=maccompress=]. after =cat=ing the .hqx parts together, i =compress= them, do a binary transfer to the mac [compress saving about 10minutes/100K], using =word= on the mac with Find... takes about a minute to cut out the text and then =binhex= the whole wad. ...gary
