I finally got the monitor prompt tonight.  Looks good, though
rather forlorn without interesting software ... where are all
the Unix ports?  8-)

Maybe I'll write a stand-alone program to churn out poxes upon
the heads of the perpetrators of RS-232.  My pc532 actually
has been alive for a few weeks now, but I just today got the
right cable made so I could tell.  Grrrr ...
