Try netlib, *a system for distribution of mathematical software by
electronic mail*.  Reams of public-domain software is available,
including LINPACK and EISPACK.  The system is maintained by
Argonne National Labs.  Just send mail to netlib@ornl.gov with
lines like *send index* or *send dgeco from linpack*.  A script
will *read* your request and mail you back source code or other
requested information, typically in a few minutes.
