There's a special file (/etc/devtab?) which is read by SunView, which contains a list of devices which should be owned by the person running SunView There are programs which can be used to change the ownership back and forth. There ought to be some way to get this program to allow you to change the ownership of /dev/audio. Look in System and Network Administration in the 4.1 manual set. @alex
