When I call up our UNIX machine from my Mac at home (I'm using MS Works Comm package) and I try to "cat" a large file after about 3 or 4 screens of info I lose the file. It seems like some kind of buffer either at my end or the UNIX machine end is overflowing and I lose the remainder of the file. Is there some kind of setting I can use to slow down the transmission of the text so my Mac can keep up? I have the XON/XOFF setting ON and I've tried a LINE DELAY and CHARACTER DELAY of up to 1 second, but that hasn't made a difference.
