Message-ID: <141@locke.water.ca.gov> Date: 9 May 90 15:52:56 GMT Organization: Calif. Dept. of Water Resources, Sac. Lines: 12 I am trying to run only part of my .login, depending on whether I am logging in or sourcing it from a script file (run all of .login when logging in, part when running in batch from a script file). On one machine, a Sun 4/330, this works ok, that is: on login, USER is set and is me; and when run from a batch system, USER is not set. However from a Sun 4/260 it doesn't work when run from batch: USER is set, and it's somebody else! What would cause this? -- Ralph Finch 916-445-0088 rfinch@water.ca.gov ...ucbvax!ucdavis!caldwr!rfinch Any opinions expressed are my own; they do not represent the DWR
