SCRUTINEER is a sophisticated pattern searching and database analysis program written by Peter Sibbald at EMBL. The reason for this is that Peter Sibbald has provided an update of his program, and because of its increased size SCRUTINEER is now split in *four* parts. Therefore, to get a copy of SCUTINEER you have to send the following commands to NETSERV@EMBL.BITNET: GET VAX_SOFTWARE:SCRUTINE.UAA GET VAX_SOFTWARE:SCRUTINE.UAB GET VAX_SOFTWARE:SCRUTINE.UAC GET VAX_SOFTWARE:SCRUTINE.UAD This was indicated in the DIR VAX_SOFTWARE directory listing, but obviously it was not generally realized. As a principal rule, if you have any problems with downloading software from the EMBL file server, first check the directory listings. File names may have been changed. And don't hesitate to contact us directly at SOFTWARE@EMBL.BITNET. Rainer Fuchs, Ph.D. EMBL Data Library fuchs@embl.bitnet
